The Hawai’ian reboot of the 1989 sitcom aims and succeeds at delivering an easy-going, fun to watch mix between medical drama and coming of age story that thrives through its characters which are a pure delight (save the two notable exceptions of the caricaturistic mother and the reduced-to-a-plot-device boyfriend) and can usually gloss over the almost irritatingly simplistic resolutions to all of the episodes’ storylines.
